‘I’d Be Dragged Out By The Collar’: Nawazuddin Siddiqui Recalls Being Manhandled When He Tried To Eat With The Main Star Cast
Nawazuddin Siddiqui opened up about how a few production houses mistreated him when he worked as a junior artist during film shoots
Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui made a name for himself in the entertainment industry with his versatile performances. He has become a role model for many aspiring actors as he started his journey from being a junior artist. While he is currently one of the most bankable actors, once upon a time he struggled to find his footing in the industry. During a recent interview he recalled the time when production houses would manhandle him for trying to eat with the main star cast of a movie.
Talking about the same to BBC Hindi, he revealed that even the spot boys on the sets of the movies wouldn’t respect junior artists. He recalled how once he had asked someone for a glass of water but was completely ignored. Nawaz added that many production houses “segregate the cast and crew during meal times.” Crediting Yash Raj Films for making the whole cast eat together without any discrimination, the actor shared about a tragic experience where, as a junior artist, he was dragged out by his caller for wanting to eat with the main cast. I was ego-driven, and I would get angry; I thought actors should be given more respect. And sometimes they’d let me through.” ALSO READ: Nawazuddin Siddiqui Reveals His Girlfriend Told Him Not To TOUCH Her Without Permission; Actor Says, ‘All I Could Think About Was Police And Court Cases'
